Tomorrow the Brooklyn Public Library is screening Malika Zouhali-Worrall’s short film Video Visit that looks at a program the library has been running with the NYC Department of Corrections to allow families free video calls to their incarcerated loved ones.⠀ ⠀ The screening will be followed by a discussion of how Libraries can help to intervene in a broken carceral system. The panel will include BPL’s Justice Initiatives Coordinator Michael Carey; The Fortune Society’s David Rothenberg Center for Public Policy’s Andre Ward; and the founder and director of Restoring Promise, Dr. Ryan Shanahan.
