ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Hermann Rorschach's father, the creator of the Rorschach test, was a painter. H. Rorschach chose medicine and studied psychiatry while considering becoming an artist like his father.
As a young boy, his friends nicknamed him "kleck" (inkblot), as he loved to paint using inkblots. Psychoanalysts such as Anzieu and Chabert state that the idea of creating a test from inkblots in their research is based on Leonardo da Vinci.
The Rorschach cards, which Rorschach made in 1918 by integrating his artistic talents and experience in medicine, were successful and accepted over time. H. Rorschach applied this test to 117 ordinary people with 288 patients to test for schizophrenia and thought disorders and published his research in the book Psychodiagnostics in 1921.
Today, Rorschach is used as a test that analyzes personality and the main dynamics of the person.
Rorschach has been the subject of movies, books, and many comics, as it is perhaps the most interesting of the psychological tests. But no one has produced a severe art project in this field.
Photographer Mehmet Turgut, who likes to surprise people with his photo manipulations, created a new NFT collection consisting of 43 pieces by combining Rorschach with slow-motion photography.
While creating this project, he was inspired by the visual form of the test and named the collection "Rorschach, Art is Insane".
