@david_lachapelle “THE RAINBOW STORY” (1995) in Issue 11 of GASP ZINE🌈 • David photographed these images in 1995 all about love and unity. He told us when he photographed these in 1995, it was the “GRUNGE” era. Everything was in black-and-white. When these photos came out, it was totally different. People had never seen anything like this before & they were so confused because everything was so colorful and filled with love, light, and rainbows! He also let us know that nail art was not a thing at the time. He flew out some of his friends to come paint on fingernails because it hadn’t been done yet in this way. 🤯 *NOTE FROM DAVID*: i flew in my friends mexican aunt from texas who painted virgin of Guadalupe on fingernails (true story). she was locally famous in her town for this talent. - All 12 images from “THE RAINBOW STORY” are available in @gaspzine #ISSUE11.
