Ask and you shall receive! A bunch of you asked me to share HEALTHY BREAKFAST IDEAS. So here are 12 options that are on my current rotation: 1. Chia Pudding 2. Acai Bowl 3. Sautéed Veggies 4. Vegan Yogurt with Berries 5. Avocado on Sweet Potato Toast 6. Classic Avocado Toast - I use flourless sprouted bread and add broccoli sprouts on top 7. High Fiber Cereal 8. Oatmeal — I add fresh fruit and hemp seeds 10. Protein Smoothie with frozen fruit and spinach 11. Protein Pancakes Additions I always have at home: hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, coconut flakes, bee pollen and broccoli sprouts (if the dish is savory) Note: As most of you know, I’m a big fan of Intermittent Fasting, so typically, I eat at 11am or 12noon, after a 16 hour break from food. My philosophy is simple; I aim for nutrient dense foods that are high in fiber, protein, healthy fats, vitamins + minerals. Yes, I eat carbs, but typically, I stick to complex carbohydrates (the ones that are fiber rich because it slows down digestion and prevents blood sugar spikes). Plus, I do my best to stay away from ultra processed foods, which make me feel like 💩 — they may be tasty, but really, they’re in a category I like to call, “fake food.” I am vegan, so all of these choices are plant based, but I don’t push my way of eating on others. If animal protein works for your body, go for it. My only suggestion would be to make sure your protein is high quality grass-fed meat or wild-caught fish...the farm raised and highly processed meats filled with nitrates can be detrimental to your health. Since I always get questions about whether I eat enough protein, the answer is yes. I get routine blood tests which show I’m metabolically healthy. HOWEVER, even though this way of eating works for me, it may not work for you. Everyone is different so I encourage you to test out your favorite nutrient dense foods — see how you feel — keep the ones that make you feel good and get rid of the ones that make you feel crummy. Cheers to being metabolically fit in 2023! #veganbreakfastideas #healthybreakfastideas #nutrientdensefoods #healthymeals
