Established in 1936 by the founder of Key Coffee, this café is a historic kissaten-style shop that preserves the refined charm of pre-war Ginza. The original building was destroyed during WWII, but rebuilt in 1947, and later reimagined into the warm, two-story café it is today. Inside, every detail invites you to slow down. First floor: dark wood paneling, brick fireplaces, and an old-world bar counter Second floor: skylights, royal blue carpet, and a vintage fireplace This visit, I ordered their signature iced coffee with milk@(¥1250) and coffee with milk (¥1160), both poured tableside with two pots—coffee in one hand, milk in the other—in perfect sync. It’s a quiet little show that feels uniquely old-school. Their house blend, brewed with a soft flannel filter (nel drip), was bold and smooth, with notes of dark chocolate, toasted caramel, and a touch of smokiness. It’s full-bodied but not bitter, with a clean, lingering finish. Expect a 30-minute to 1-hour wait during peak times.📍Tricolore: 5 Chome-9-17 Ginza, Chuo City, Tokyo 104-0061, Japan . . #tokyo #tokyojapan #cafe #coffee #ginza
