Jermaine justly continues to seek out aid and support for ongoing access to professional medical care, home care, sustainable and reliable housing, meal prep, and more. In addition to living with Cerebral Palsy, a recent chronic skin condition was revealed to be Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) an autoimmune disease which impacts his performance art, independence and self care. He has been repeatedly hospitalized for skin infections and needs consistent open wound care. Additionally, his Medicare insurance will not cover all of these expenses and wound care treatments as they will only cover 3 days of wound care, leaving him without care for the remainder of the week, leaving Jermaine vulnerable for reinfection. I’m sharing his info in solidarity and showing y’all that his disability joy shall not be diminished because of financial oppression and ableism set against queer black disabled folks!
