What a ride! My debut short film Twice Lost is officially out (link in bio). Our premiere was magical. Hearing the responses of all the different things people took away was the best part. That’s a huge reason I love filmmaking. It’s a medium that can affect you through the acting, visuals, music, coloring, wardrobe - so much! And every single person can take away something different. We did our best in this film to layer it with complexity so that if you watched a second time you would see more and more. To our amazement, so of the main responses from the panel of mental health professionals that watched the film for our event said this very thing, that it was rich with depth and complexity. The film is not perfect, no. But this was a playground for our passions. A place where we could step into our hope, dreams, and fears and see what could happen. For me, I went to school for ministry. The Lord has since changed my desire (and that’s okay), but for those who have known me for a long time would know since I was in 5th grade I have always loved formal storytelling. Who knows where this all goes, but I’m loving the ride. I love the people I get to be around. I have never felt so alive as when I am creating worlds that people can step into. My hope through the stories that I tell there would be moments of hope realized. Fractured, broken, buried pieces of yourself that you uncover and ultimately begin to heal from. Stories are so powerful and have the ability to change perspectives and challenge realities. They seep into our brains and help us learn from ourselves. We can safely place ourselves in these stories and see what they have to teach us. If you have watched it - thank you for your support. I truly mean it, you mean the world to me! I can’t wait for more!
