This past weekend I had the pleasure of connecting with a few of my beautiful #Spelman sisters at the inaugural True Blue Sister Summit💙🤍 hosted by @officialnaasc. Thank you to @danabeingdana for hosting such an inspiring keynote conversation with @Deeproctor and I around the theme, Retool, Recharge, and Reconnect. Here are some of my biggest takeaways: 🔧Retool: It’s no secret that most Spelman women are always striving for greatness. During our talk @Deeproctor, an award-winning multimedia exec who has made many pivots in her career, encouraged one of our sisters who was looking for guidence on when she should take the leap into enterprenuership to “JUST DO IT!” We have nothing to lose except more time not living within our purpose. 🔋Recharge: We cannot neglect self care on our journey to success. Ultimately what is “recharging” for one person may actually be draining for another. The sisterhood is always there to help pour into you whenever and however you need it. 🔌Reconnect: I almost forgot that Spelman is more than the 4 years you’re on campus. Any time you meet another Spelman woman, you now have someone who will look out for your best interest and extent their resources to help you reach it. Reach out and reconnect! You never know what opportunities you’re missing out on by staying quiet. It was great to give a little back to an institution that has given me so much. Thank you again #NAASC for having me.
