Read below our Q&A and follow link in profile for more photos and video!⁠ ⁠ Q:What is it like to be a mama to girls nowadays?⁠ A: I feel like I spend a lot of energy de-programming: constantly pointing out how the messaging our society puts forth is misleading, or downright hurtful to women and girls.⁠ ⁠ Q:What are your biggest wishes for the future of your daughter? ⁠ A: I hope that Josephine leads the life she desires, and not one that a conventional society expects of her.⁠ ⁠ Q:How can you best serve as a role model to your girl? ⁠ A: I strive to model autonomy and independence. I let her see me taking care of myself physically, emotionally, and socially. She bears witness to everything from me going to the gym, running my business, scheduling my therapist, and leaving for a night of cocktails with friends. It’s important she see me enjoying a life of my own...not outside of, but in addition to mothering.⁠ ⁠ Jocelyn, 38 is a hairstylist & salon owner.⁠
