Last week, some of my best friends and I were blessed with the chance to go to Hawaii for a long weekend.
On our last night, we walked to the beach after dinner. It was a remarkably clear night, so we stretched out on the sand and looked up at the constellations above us.
One of us saw a shooting star for the first time. Another traced the Milky Way as it stretched across the sky. We laid there for a long while — captivated in pure wonder — and all felt a little bit like a kid again.
It ended up being my favorite part of the trip. Even just for a moment, we remembered what it’s like to be small beneath something so incredibly vast — to be humbled and comforted all at once.
These moments are rare. In a world that keeps us rushing, scrolling, and distracted, it’s easy to forget the wonders around us. God’s handiwork isn’t hidden — it’s been there all along, waiting to capture our hearts if only we’ll pause long enough to see it.
