True to form, Channel 4 treads where no other broadcaster dares to venture, announcing it’s 40th birthday celebrations with a host of broadcasts that celebrate all that is Unseen, Unheard and Unsayable in 2022. Commemorating the public service broadcaster's iconoclastic roots, chief content officer Ian Katz explained that the commissions were "a collection of irreverent, thought-provoking and hugely entertaining shows that no other broadcaster would air", adding: "If we must age, we plan to do it disgracefully." With the threat of privatisation looming ever closer, the birthday bash can be understood as a possible final two fingers to the current government. Here we’ve highlighted five of our favourite of the upcoming shows, which will air in November. 1. 'Too Large For Love?' explores the woes of men with medically uncomfortably large phalluses. 2. 'The Prince Andrew Musical' has been written by comedian Kieran Hodgson. 3. 'Frankie Boyle: Monarchy' will see the disgraced comedian investigate the legitimacy of the Royal Family in the modern day. 4. British-Afghan Yasmeena Ali, who fled the Taliban and became a successful pornographic actress, will be the subject of another documentary. 5. There will be a revival of another Channel 4 stalwart - Ben Elton’s 1980s comedy show Friday Night Live. Oh we love you @channel4 ❤️ You supported @ten66televisionltd financially in our first 3 years of existence and we haven’t forgotten that! #channel4 #liztruss #channel4at40 #weownitcampaign @weownit_campaign
