SO many of you told me that you missed what happened to @arcreid so here it is: After a couple of days suffering with horrible stomach pains, Saturday morning I took Reid to the urgent care and then rushed him to the ER. He was a week in the hospital with diverticulitis. During “laparoscopic exploratory” surgery Wednesday, they removed his appendix and discovered lots of pus and infection. I was his advocate and spent as many waking hours during the visiting hours 9-9pm at the hospital. It was a draining week of lots of different diagnoses and awaiting answers. Reid is now recovering at home and will have a colonoscopy next month to determine what’s going on with his colon. Our CC community has brought dinners to feed my family and you all have written the kindest messages that I’d read at the hospital before my lonely drive home😭🙏. I have 3 regrets I have from this debacle... 1. Don’t wait to go to the ER if you’re bowled over in pain. 2. Get a Colonoscopy ASAP. Especially after 40. 3. Get a good primary care physician and keep up with visits. Send this to someone you love and learn from our mistakes. The kids are so glad dad is back home 🏠 😭🙏 btw this is the song we’d play in the hospital that gave us such comfort.
