On Thursday I got to speak at the peoples plenary on behalf of the children and youth constituency to demand action and share some hope. • • COP27 has been a whirlwind and there is so much more work to do (define which communities are considered vulnerable have access to the loss and damage fund, funding structures, how much much, fossil fuel phase out & mitigation and adaption commitments to actually maintain 1.5C etc) but I’m taking a minute to celebrate our win: we established a loss and damage fund 🎉 I cannot overstate the amount of work put into this by young people, people of color, activists, island states & countries in the global south for years. • We do have power and we will change the world. • • #cop27 #lossanddamage #climatejustice #takeactionow #youthsctivism #youthclinstestrikes #communityorganizing #justice #humanrights #solidarity #freethemall #freealaa
