Monkeypox is starting to be seen at Dermatology offices around the country and here are some things to remember 🙏🏾⁣ ⁣ - It can start off as any other virus with your typical symtpoms - Fever, exhaustion, aches, etc.⁣ ⁣ - The rash presents as itchy or often painful bumps on the arms, legs, abdomen, or sometimes genital area⁣ ⁣ - They tend to scab over after 2-3 weeks. It’s important to be in isolation during this time so not to spread to others⁣ ⁣ - it is NOT always transmitted via intimate contact. Cases are being reported after music festivals and events where people are in close proximity⁣ ⁣ Be careful out there and as always, stay informed.
