It’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Day! Being a woman entrepreneur is insanely hard, and it’s also allowed me to build spaces and communities beyond my wildest dreams. At times, prioritizing this business and the community around it has taken a toll on my health, my friendships, and my sanity. At times it has made me feel more pride and satisfaction and joy than I could have imagined. It has taken me almost three years (the entirety of @goodmoveny lifespan: 2 studio buildouts, 1 online TV channel, 8 retreats, a handful of brand partnerships, thousands of clients, 3 teacher training cohorts, 5 merch drops, and 25 employees 🤯) to even be able to acknowledge that yes, in fact- I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR! I had to overcome a lot of limiting beliefs like “I can’t be both an artist and a businesswoman ” or “this means im not a real dancer” “im not good enough at math to own a business” etc etc. These are lies I learned at some point along the way and if I can help anyone who relates to any of this let me tell you I know from experience that it is possible to turn your wildest visions into living breathing things and be as expansive and as many things as you want to be. Thank you to every single one of you who has been a part of this journey with me. Thank you to all of you who encouraged me at any and every step of the way, and thank you to those of you who told me not to quit even though there were honestly a lot of times I really want/ wanted to. It’s an honor to be here, especially after all we’ve been through, it’s an honor to be here against the odds. It’s an honor to keep growing an learning through the process of being an entrepreneur- an education beyond what any school could offer and the adventure of a lifetime.
