Some of the celebrities I worked with between 2003-2009. These various jobs entailed everything from being picked up in huge limousines, to being flown down to the south of France and being put up in a 5 star hotel for 3 hours work, to having to do a whole makeup kneeling on the floor because the celebrity was really busy and I had to do makeup while she continued working on her laptop, another one was really difficult and every time I asked her to look up she looked down and when I asked her to look down she looked up 🙄😠 this is the reality of being a celebrity MUA - you never know how the day will go- I see sometimes on social that non-set MUA’s can be overly critical of celebrity MUA’s work thinking that one of the IG MUA’s could do so much better, please let me explain for those who don’t have a lot of experience doing celebrities - firstly, we rarely get more than an hour as celebrities are so busy, secondly they are usually doing something else while getting makeup done - being interviewed at the same time as having makeup done is a classic scenario, and it is not polite to interrupt! Sometimes they are in a bad mood and miserable, so you must be patient. So it really is a different experience all together than doing fantastic super creative work on your own face in your own time. In my experience, most really talented stars are just wonderful and inspirational.
