Around a decade ago my German agent @ballsaal_artist_management put me together with photographer @frankwartenberg ⭐️ to work on advertising for @nikoneurope . The brief was make it like Serge Lutens (one of my heroes) and super precise to show off the high resolution of the camera - no retouching ! 🤓 who could help to NOT be inspired by the genius Serge Lutens ! 🙌🙌🙌🙌 I decided to go down the route of ornamentation on the arms and face! Please see last 2 slides for the sketches- thank God they didn’t pick the design with the intricate lettering 😱😂 as this one took over 4 hours to add all the simple shapes! This was Pre- Face Lace so I cut all the shapes out of faux leather and brushed the back of each one with eyelash glue and placed them one at a time 😯 on the arms hands and face even with a assistant it took over 4 hours with fingers all glued up! When we finally finished I did the face in just over an hour- the assistant was amazed- “wow you took 4 and a half hours to do the arms and an hour to do the face?” That was the easy part!! Things would have been so much easier with @face_lace ! Now I help loads of other Pro MUA’s with bespoke work to speed up this kind of brief!! 😉 having not looked at the sketches for a decade I do quite like the blocky eye makeup design they didn’t go for in the last sketch 🤔#advertising #longhaulmakeups #intricatedesigns #stickorama #stickyfingers
