Although I live in New York for past 6 years, I was raised in Mumbai and that will always be home, it’s such a joy to see that my debut VR Film titled “Home” made it to my home city with the worlds largest travelling film festival @jagran_filmfestival 🥹🙏 my first VR film Home will be playing in Mumbai on Sunday, 16th Nov at 7:15 PM at Cinepolis Theater in Auditorium #4 in fun republic mall, Andheri west. This short 3 min film is my directorial debut in virtual reality cinema storytelling, it was filmed inside 360 degree VR worlds in the metaverse and is now rendered as a 2D animation film for larger audiences to see in 180 DOF as the theaters are not yet equipped anywhere in the world with VR headsets! (I hope someone at Reliance is listening) Hopefully one day we will have them like 3D glasses in atleast 1 screen in all multiplexes and everyone will be able to immerse themselves in these 360 DOF environments, it’s quite magical. I would love to hear what you felt after seeing this short film. “Women cannot be fully free until they have religious freedom” is the theme I have explored in this film with words contrasting the visuals. The film won creative achievement award this summer and received great response at the recent film festival in NY and a lot of buzz amongst audiences when I said “I made this entire film with this one headset and getting dizzy for few hours everyday of filming”!
