Parenting is about intention and attention. Internally, we can have specific intentions - raising kind children who find delight in learning and who are adventurous and brave. Children who love themselves and are kinds to themselves. As parents, what we intend to do can sometimes be trapped within our thoughts, invisible to our children. Children naturally want to emulate behaviors and actions, from saying words we use or doing things we do. A gentle reminder for us parents to remember the littles ones are paying attention to our attention. How do we spend our time? How do we place value on things or experiences? And how kind are we to ourselves? It won’t be a perfect week. Your attention won’t be perfect either. But this is a helpful reminder to all of us.
