Tell me you can’t predict the weather without telling me you can’t predict the weather Ah yes, as the old saying goes. And boy did it decide to land on this much anticipated trip. Wind is not always your friend but, hell, you wouldn’t know it from the final product. @dakotalynnphoto knows how to pull it out. An eye for the soul, a talent for capturing a woman’s vulnerability, strength and resilience. We met Dakota a few years back as she was just carving out her own space in the photography industry. She was good (really good), well under 30, and on her own with two gorgeous little ones. I later learned she completed her degree and walked the graduation stage all before her youngest turned 1. That takes a powerhouse of there ever was one. Dakota can be quiet while she works. She can make a new untrained model feel at ease and good in their skin. It shows right there in the eyes. Hers are the shots you print and frame and the ones that create small talk in our shop when people look at them. We’ve learned to leave Dakota be while she shoots. Not get in the way of her and her art. And we’re never disappointed. When the images come out it’s like viewing a bit of herself, all that she’s ever touched, loved, and/or lost are right there in the images. It’s an honor to bare witness and a joy to be in this space in time with her as she climbs her way straight to the top ♥️
