In 2015 I got a call from my dear friend @alimahdaviparis 👌🏻🙌🙌💥💥✨a great genius artist/photographer who combines profound knowledge of HOLLYWOOD glamour with an exquisite awareness of contemporary art. He wanted me to transform the beautiful @kylieminogue 💖💖🙌🙌 into Marlene Dietrich for a special edition of @sorbetmag 🔥We flew to LA for the photo shoot and we had between 11:00 am - 5:00pm to do hair makeup styling eat lunch and get 8 shots! 😱 Ali said “Phyllis you have to be fast! You have to finish in less than 90 minutes. So I started to prep the brows as the amazing hair stylist @officialdanilohair 🙌🙌did his incredible part of the transformation. As soon as @kylieminogue sat in my chair I went straight in with dark brown eye shadow to redraw her eyelids. As you will see from the 4th slide I had done a careful “portrait” of Dietrich’s features over Kylie’s so I had a good idea of exactly what needed to be redrawn and where! The Makeup had to be subtle but very effective! And had to work from angles too! Kylie was amazing🙏✨💥 such a beautiful sweet woman with such poise 😩 And to watch her and @alimahdaviparis create magic in front of the camera was one of the most memorable few hours I have ever had in my career 😭😭😭.
