:: what’s the big deal? :: If you aren’t a woman who grew up in a world that shamed gray hair, it might seem silly to you. Why do I talk about hair so much? To be honest, beauty and hair is something I know the least about — and is of little interest to me. But it’s so much deeper than that. Until you’re scheduling vacations around hair appointments and scrambling to find root spray so you can attend an event, you might not understand how liberating it is to see another woman walk into a room dressed up like a goddess with #silverhair. Until you’ve scrolled through your phone searching for “good” picture with you and your kids, but struggle to find anything that doesn’t have the top of your head cut off, you might not appreciate how good it feels inside to smile big in front of a camera, without a second thought. Until you’ve been shamed by a male coworker because your roots were showing before you could get back to the salon... ... perhaps you can’t appreciate why I show pictures of my silver hair. Because no one should feel shamed into hiding or stressed to fit in.
