jinkies. while we’re talking about velma...people online had a lot to say about this one. and that’s okay, i love her dearly. we filmed this movie during one of the most challenging times of my life, mental-health wise. even though I was very much an adult, my dad came with me to make sure i was safe from myself. i am so incredibly grateful i was surrounded by love and kindness and the fun we had on this set, many days it helped me through. you don’t know those types of details when you watch something then go write things online or when you insult or make fun of your classmates for being different or put down a friend or partner, even jokingly. you just never know what other people are going through and you don’t know their tipping points. so be careful. be kind. and if you can’t be kind, be quiet. and just so we don’t lose the nuance on social media, it’s good to have opinions and good to have feedback and fine to have criticisms, that helps growth. but take care to communicate it well, are you trying to help or hurt? because you can do both—never underestimate the effect your words can have on someone else just trying to navigate this thing called life. now please excuse me while i go find my glasses 🧡
