My first ice bath 🥶 Ok so my best friend convinced me to do this as he’s been doing it for a while and says there are worthwhile benefits and tons of athletes as well as spiritual seekers do this, so I figured I’d try it. The benefits include: •ease achy muscles •improve workout recovery •reduce stress •cool you down •boost circulation •support a healthy immune system •boost your mood •burn calories After doing this, I’m not really experiencing any soreness from a 2 hour leg workout today, let’s see tomorrow. Also, my mind feels really at ease, and overall I’m super relaxed now. It was really a big mind over matter situation. I had to tell my mind this was safe and the shocking sensations from the cold are just feelings. I told myself not to make up meaning about it, not to try to convince myself it’s too much to handle, but instead, I focused on my breath and just recognized the fact that my body was feeling a new sensation all over and my only job is to focus on my breath and relax my muscles, especially my jaw and hands. I did a chakra activation meditation during my time in the tub and tapped into gratitude for the healing taking place in my body. It was tough to stay in the whole time but the meditation and deep breathing got me through. So what do you think? Have you done it?
