Self-care, especially when you’re at your lowest, is crucial to prevent burnout. A lot of people realize they need to put themselves first after they experience burnout. At that point, it isn’t preventative self-care, its mandatory after-care. And it takes MUCH longer to bounce back.
It’s easy to neglect ourselves when there is a lot going on. Distractions (such as work, drinking alcohol, mindless scrolling) can temporarily make us feel better but they aren’t sustainable in the long term.
I encourage you to try to consciously implement self-care habits in your day. When you’re having a bad day, acknowledge what you are feeling and do something for yourself that you love. Recharge your batteries so you can show up better for yourself, at your work, and in your relationships. I really hope the posts I create remind you of this message regularly 💕.
Love, Nawal ♥️
