Happy National Sewing Month! Did you know that one of the common item requests we get from new arrival families is a sewing machine? Since our very first enrollment in 2016, Miry’s List has served over 1,000 families, comprising more than 5,000 individuals, that have resettled in 23 US states. Of the 32 families we enroll each month, about 5 request a sewing machine as one of their urgently needed items. We currently have a waiting list of 23 families who are in need of a sewing machine, and while we are working on finding partnerships with more sewing companies, we also know that everyday kind hearted neighbors are always the ones who make the world go around.
