The planet is worth fighting for. Why? The beauty and joy it offers. It’s complexity and intricacies that spark our imaginations and spur wonder. The reminder it give us of our interconnectedness. Its display of community and cooperation and interdependent reliance. The way it feeds us even when we abuse it. The way it supports and houses us and demonstrates abundance and generosity. Without the earth, we have nothing. No home, no food, no future. The earth feeds us in a very literal way. But it also feeds us in spiritual and relational ways. The restoration that comes with spending time in nature is vital to human health. The connection we find in communities that thrive off of the earth resources (all of us) are essential. The earth offers us to much. The least we can do is ensure it’s protection and future— for all us. Protecting the planet is protecting life and protecting humanity and all that we love and need.
