“Hi, my name is Elvis and I want to get rid of sadness.” 💔💫 Today, Elvis and I shared a powerful moment at Camp Erin, a grief camp created to bring hope and healing to kids and families. Through an exercise called “plate smashing,” he bravely wrote his feelings down about grief, spoke them out loud and then let them go! I was really proud of him for doing this. For the first time, Elvis sat in a room with other kids who have experienced loss, and he realized—he isn’t alone. That simple but profound truth is exactly what Camp Erin is all about. I am deeply grateful to @karen.phelps.moyer and @elunanetwork for creating this space, and to the compassionate volunteers from @ourhousegrief who surround these children with so much love. Grief is heavy, but days like this remind us that healing is possible.
