September 21 is Black Women's Equal Pay Day.
The day highlights how long it would take into 2022 for a typical Black woman starting at the beginning of 2021 to earn as much as a non-Hispanic white man made in 2021 because of the gender and racial pay gap.
According to NWLC's analysis on earnings from full-time, year-round workers, Black women lose over $20,000 a year in losses relative to non-Hispanic white men.
The pay gap affects Black women in multiple ways, including their savings for retirement.
