There’s been a lot of conversation about LA having only 15 city council seats. Each of our city council members represents 250k+ residents (compared with NY and Chicago having 50+ seats each, respectively representing a smaller constituency.) What would expanding LA’s city council look like? What are the potential advantages, and what are the pitfalls? How might our city council districts better represent the diversity of Angelenos?
