Have you been to Chefchaouen, the Blue City in Morocco? 💙 In the 20s, the city became Spain's territory, and that's when the arrival of Jews fleeing from Europe started. According to one theory, the Jewish refugees are responsible for painting the walls blue as a reminder of God's power. Then, in the late 40s and early 50s, they left the town to live in Israel. But the Blue City was preserved. Up until this day, the vibrant blue walls are being maintained by repainting the walls every two years. However, before that, the walls used to be white during the younger days of the old residents of Chefchaouen.
