Day 4 of #peacealover is a balance pose and our prompt is
“How do you find balance between life chaos & internal peace?”
I don’t really know if I’m all that good at this yet, but I try 😂
In the last few weeks I’ve realized that if I’m really overwhelmed-I have to stop and call a time out. I can’t do anything well if I’m losing my shit and it’s not good for my mental health or body to keep going if I’m truly at my max.
It’s also not a good example for my son. It’s good to take breaks when we need, to walk away from a conversation or situation if we’re going to explode. But I’m not perfect at it.
Sometimes it bubbles over, like the other day I walked in on Bodhi doing something he shouldn’t. I overreacted and yelled at him. He jumped looking upset not able to rationalize why I yelled, so I stopped apologized to him and hugged him and told him it’s never his fault if I yell.
I made a mistake, I let the internal chaos and my anxieties spill over and projected them on him. But I repaired it by showing him that we apologize when we mess up.
I don’t know if i’ll ever master this one, but I try and I give myself grace for being a chaotic human in a world expecting perfection.
