Let’s talk CANCELLATION POLICY!! ⚠️ ( I can hear trepidatious music in the background) The truth is cancellation policies have been the center of hours of debate, questions, fear, for so many salon owners and stylist. It is not fun for anyone involved. And no one likes to come up with one, or enforce it. However it’s one of those sides of business you have to handle if you want to be successful salon owner or stylist behind the chair. At the end of the day time is money right?! Quite literally for hairstylist who do not get paid a set salary. The last thing we want to do as hair stylist is charge you for a service your not receiving. But do you know what’s worse then that? Not making any money at the end of the week because your time was not compensated for, and you did not have a policy in place to protect your income. Cancellation policy are so far from personal, they are there to sheerly protect the stylist time and money. It’s boundary we have to put up and follow through with. We still do not like doing it, there’s nothing worse then telling your long standing client Susan who you’ve shared numerous years and great conversations with, “I have to charge you for your appointment because you failed to give me enough notice before canceling.” It feels horrible but do you know what’s even worse denying yourself the chance to make the dollar amount you count on each week. The cancellation policy was never there to punish anyone. However what would be a more fair solution for everyone involved?! I truly ask that question. We have mauled it over and over again what is fair cancellation policy? We truly love our guest and want to always do your hair and honor your time. And to all those that respect our time right back we appreciate you more then you will ever know. To anyone who has been hit with the cancellation policy I hope you can understand it’s not personal. This is business, the not fun side of running a business🙈.
