That also doesn’t mean I, or any woman here, owes you politeness if we feel rage upon being harmed. ❤ Prioritize kindness over niceness - Kindness looks like using our power and privilege for those who don’t have as much as we do. Niceness is telling someone it’s raining outside. Kindness is offering your umbrella. I think kindness is thoughtful honesty. Related... 😏 Make good trouble (shoutout to the late, great John Lewis) - This is a community of troublemakers, which means we will say and do the hard things, for the greater good. Your voice is needed, especially when it’s scary. And you will be amongst people who are committing to that type of courage (buy my book) 🤎 We center the experience of Black women here, unapologetically. To protect us is to fight with and for us.
