I will forever be grateful for getting to meet and briefly work with X. My heart goes out to @divinebars @steverifkind and all the others that were involved in his life and have been there for him. One day in 2017 we were sitting around my office and I was blasting DMX records and the idea for him to collab with some artists I worked with came to mind. @jakefromvenice jokingly mentioned that he knew @divinebars and had met X before. I said “get the manager in the phone”. We wound up talking and I connected them with a number of artists. About a week later I got a FaceTime from @datsik and @dmx was there with him in his studio. X barked at me a few times over the phone & asked where we were going to hang. I said let’s go to BOA and he said that’s too Boojee and we should go to saddle ranch and hang. So we went shot pool hung out had drinks and talked shop. I invited @jjcassiere along who got to meet X and @divinebars with me where we helped construct a plan for his return tour. This was the start of something special. Unfortunately the first tour we planned had to be cancelled and I was in the process of selling the business to UTA. @jjcassiere ran with @dmx and brought him back into the spotlight with something like 30k tickets sold. (Hats off to you for that JJ) X changed the game the day he wore red overalls and rocked Woodstock on live tv. The golden era of hip hop was a great time and @dmx helped run the play that blew it up. Ps. The day I dropped out of college I had a DMX show as a promoter and literally left school that day and said “fuck this I have work to do”.....
