I don’t know where to even start ... what a crazy weekend; i am incredible humbled by everyone who came through to celebrate the queer SWANA and South Asian community at @southbankcentre @nafs.space could never have happened without the support of my Queer SWANA siblings @prideofarabia and #nazar could not have happened without @ryanlanji and @hungama_ldn , not to mention all the incredible talent that we have on stage: @ariahomiebaba @aran_cherkez @uglyinahotway @____shimmy___ @saliahgram @sarrawild @thatdosacat @haremofnoone @sheerahr @sedafettah My heart is full and I have been emotionally overwhelmed for the last few days. However we aren’t done yet. We know that pride is protest and we are still protesting for our rights all over the world. Our siblings in Turkey were under threat, beaten and detained by police forces for marching recently. There is still way more work to be done. We must use any privileges we have were we can to help and support our communities around the world and in our home countries. Now is the time to bring all our communities together to fight together and actually make a change. We can’t rely on anyone else. We are more powerful in numbers! I thank every single person who showed up on Saturday, this could not have happened without you! We had over 2500 people joining to celebrate our culture, heritage and queerness so to say I feel humbled is an understatement. Ryan and I will do everything we can to continue these events- but we will also need your support.
