DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL ABUSE DOES NOT STOP FOR HOLIDAYS. WE CONTROL TO SEE AN INCREASE AS FINANCIAL PRESSURE INCREASES. I am now preparing to arrange for a pregnant mother of two toddler's to come to London. I can't go into details because of GDPR/confidentiality. Suffice to say, she has no recourse to public funds, the children were born in the UK. The perpetrator has been extremely abusive, knowing that's she's vulnerable. HE CALLED THE POLICE BECOME HE WANT HER OUT, POLICE CAME AND ESCORTED THEM OUT. IT WAS AFTER 8PM. NO ADVICE, NO SAFEGUARDING, NOTHING. YES SHE'S BLACK. In this time of violence against women and children, the WEST MIDLANDS police FAILED IN THE DUTY OF CARE. We will first support the family, before making a formal complaint against those officers. We have booked her and the children's train ticket to safety, but because you can't be in a hotel until 2pm-3pm, we had to consider travelling to West Midlands to assist. We have to pay extra so they can book in early. As we support that family to safety, another crisis will arise. WE REALLY NEED A REFUGE/RESPITE SAFE SPACE BECAUSE THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED CASE. HOTEL FEES ARE VERY EXPENSIVE AND IT MAKES MORE ECONOMIC AND HUMANE SENSE TO PURCHASE OUR OWN SAFE SPACE. THERE WE CAN OFFER PRACTICAL ADVICE AND SUPPORT.
