Earlier in August, I visited Rejuvenate Skin Clinic to do skin needling for the first time! I’ve heard great things and seen incredible before and after of this treatment from my friends and after some research, I concluded skin needling would be best to help achieve my skincare goal of fading my post breakouts hyperpigmentation and improving radiance. What is skin needling you ask? This treatment creates tiny micro needle punctures to the surface of your skin to encourage skin regeneration. The healing process stimulates collagen, plumping the skin to improve the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles and fade hyperpigmentation caused by acne scars. The process takes about 20 minutes for the numbing cream, 15-20 minutes for needling, and 5-6 sessions every 6-8 weeks is required for optimal results. The pain is about a 6-7/10 for me and feels like shading for tattoos, some parts like the forehead and upper lips can get pretty spicy. The healing process and results. I hibernated for a total of 5 days: Day 1: right after needling, there is obvious redness and discomfort. The skin is super sensitive, feels hot and stings but bearable. Day 2: still red, you may experience tightness as the skin heals. Less discomfort. Day 3: less red but tightness will increase and dryness still begin. Day 4 onwards: after washing my face on night 3, most of the dead skin gently peeled off in the shower and I was pretty much back to normal. After 1-2 weeks, my skin was smoother, super radiant and my pores appeared less enlarged. My hyperpigmentation progressive fades more each day and is noticeably better. I received so many compliments on my skin texture and radiance. I look forward to a few more sessions to see long term results.
