Words take us everywhere. They bring us to moments of wonder and empathy—and, if we’re lucky, inspiration—in a world where it may feel like we’re gasping for the sweetness of hope. Of talking with those who are in Bangladesh; of hearing those who are not yet born and will not be for years to come; of finding means to receive the communication of someone whose interpretations are with trees; a space by the different arrangements of many, many characters upon a page could ever take us! Words can offer us comfort and a place to be held—and sometimes even tossed and blown out by every wind of its doing. Writing and reading have been ways to soothe my insides and unlock newfound discoveries my eyes could never find on their own. There are times when words fail and suffocate me, times they've taught me seminal lessons, and times when their redemptive power has vehicled my utmost happiness. It’s as if I become the literary experiences I endure and yet, remain myself. I’m grateful to every author who has become my extension. People make beautiful, spectacular things.
