Even before I left my home in Mexico, I would dream about the Arctic’s ice floe mazes and the towering glass sculptures of Antarctica’s coasts. I relied on books and the power of storytelling to transport me to the farthest reaches of our planet. When I finally achieved my dreams and visited each of our planet’s icy bookends, the experience was far beyond my wildest imagination. Our polar regions are nearly perfect mirrors of each other, and yet their differences are as vast as the oceans between them. To the north, Polar bears wander the frozen surface of the Arctic Ocean on wide, tufted feet. Far to the south, the squawks and trills of penguins fill the crisp sea air as they gather in massive colonies along the last continent’s shores. Each pole has its own ecosystem and story– a story that I have worked to bring to life alongside my @SeaLegacy team. #antarctica #storytelling
