We want to say thank you for starting along on this journey with us and continuing to follow, engage and support our growing community of Black Girl Environmentalists. We started this journey together in January of 2021 with an incredible campaign that helped us connect with extraordinary Black environmentalists across the diaspora and work together with two environmental organizations we highly respect on that campaign. With this accelerated start to our journey, we have learned and grown so much! For that, we thank you. BGE as an organization and community is more than just a social media platform. Over the last summer, we have slowed down our operations to look inwards and build solid, more intentional foundations and internal structures that help us connect with our people on the ground. Organize, amplify, mobilize, and co-create futures in which Black people are centered, rather than sidelines or rather than an afterthought What have we been up to and What can you look forward to? 💭 Developing internal structures & 501c3 status 💭Building and solidifying our foundations such as our bylaws, ethics, and organization values 💭 Ideating future programs + opportunities 💭Facilitating community both virtually and in-person Lastly, we want to hear from you!
