The assignment was to shoot Bert from The Used and Gerard together. At the time, they were still friends and were performing Under Pressure live on the “Taste of Chaos” tour. Gerard and I were waiting on Bert, so I snapped a few photos of him solo.” - Justin Borucki @justinborucki Apologies on the pic quality. You can’t really tell, but there wasn’t much light in the theatre when I captured this. The Convention Hall was closed when I went. I really wanted to get this pic so I went back a few times over the course of 4 hours hoping to find someone working there who might allow me access into the venue. On my last attempt, I decided to check some of the side doors (an old concert trick used many times in my past). Sure enough, behind some security gates, was a door propped open with a brick. I took a chance and proceeded in. I was amazed by the venue’s beauty and history as it opened up around me, having this been my first time there. I took it all in for a few minutes as I thought I had the venue all to myself. Sure enough staff quickly appeared and suspiciously looked me up and down followed by a question of “Yes?” in a very stand offish manner. After explaining myself, they were more than accommodating and nice, allowing me access to the exact spot after talking with them for a few minutes about the venue’s history and future plans. Thanks to Justin who shared with me small details in helping me pin down the exact seat where Gerard was sitting for this pic. Hoping to see a show in that venue soon.
