Sang some impromptu karaoke last night to raise money for the newly established Brain Cancer Patient Assistance Fund at @vanderbilthealth , a fund developed to help relieve some of the burden of medical bills for patients in need. The fund and the event, Karaoke on the Brain, were started by Olivia Leow, a friend of a friend, wife and mother who was diagnosed with brain cancer last year and underwent an awake craniotomy to remove her tumor. While in the emergency room, @oleow noticed there were so many people who didn’t have a community to support them when they needed it most. She created this fund to help other brain tumor patients with medical bills, rides, food, housing and other support they might need. So last night we sang a lot of karaoke. Did @gracegsturdivant, The Jugg Sisters of @nashtrashtours and I get on stage for some “Proud Mary”? Yes. Did I mess up the words to a song I’ve sang 100 times? Yes. Do I care? No. There were so many fun karaoke numbers last night.
