A hot little Luna on these sunny days. The decking is one of our fave DIYs and Lunes loves it too. The patch it’s on was used as a decent 2m x 2m vegetable patch but my green thumb is indoors only 😜
We had quotes for decking and it was going to cost £1,000-1,700 for such a small area 😳 we really didn’t have that budget and I’m sure if we wanted something super polished it would have been worth it... but we didn’t. We just wanted rid of the patch. So we DIYd it.
We flattened the ground as much as we could and laid weed control fabric and slate. We got some water treated pallets from Dan’s uncle for free and spent the afternoon pinning them together and adding decking boards on top. We had so much fun, it was cheap, and it looks great.
It adds interest to the garden and Dan loves sitting up there with a coffee. And because it didn’t cost a lot it’s okay that it won’t last forever.
I was going to paint it - I even bought the paint - but I bottled it at how bright the paint was and oiled it instead. I’m a little bolder these days though, and I’m feeling adventurous... what colour should we go? I’m thinking teal...
