FATIGUE, the second LP from L’Rain, is out today. I am overjoyed to see this record released into the world. Taja @turrelljames and I have worked together over the last 10+ years, and while I am so proud of all the work we’ve done, I feel that FATIGUE is a watershed moment in our partnership. Making this record was a uniquely incredible experience for me. The production and recording process pushed me to my limits - musically, emotionally, technologically - but the drive to reach new frontiers motivated us even when we hit walls and grappled with moments of self-doubt. I’m so grateful that Taja trusted me with her art and the responsibility of empowering her vision. It’s been an honor and I’ll always look back fondly on this period of boundless creativity. So, thank you, Taja - you are one-of-a-kind, a true auteur. I am so lucky to have such a receptive, gracious, and fearless collaborator and co-conspirator. I’d also like to give thanks to Ben @chef_booboo_doodoo, who was an integral part of this record and gave so much to the process and to the music itself. I met Ben on day one of our first proper session at my studio in LA, and from there I made a friend for life. Many others contributed their talents to this album, and though there are too many to list here (full, accurate credits are available online and on the LP), they all brought something unique to this album in service of Taja’s art. That may sound cliche but I believe it’s true- Taja brings out the best in her collaborators. Special thanks to @mordecaimoroh for helping provide some deference when Taja, Ben, and I began to lose perspective. Shoutout to @slauson.malone for crafting this collection into a seamless listening experience, and to @heba_kadry for the finishing touches.
