💙hi! I’m dr shieva ghofrany aka @biglovefiercejuju and here’s my laundry list in a nutshell and #mywhy here: !!️obgyn for 23 years—19 of which have been in private practice with my fantabulous “work brothers” (now there are 4 of them!) and our awesome NP, PA and staff at Coastal OBGYN 🧿mom to 3 humans who are divine and lousy all in one (#miserableandmagical as I always say) and 2 rescue mutts who are, shedding aside, pure magic... 💙NOW for my health history, which reads a bit like a “what’s what” in OBGYN health, here’s a few of my nuggets: ♣️endometriosis—detected at age 28 when I had a 17cm cyst (#notatypo!!) ♦️HPV (discovered age 22. Fun day!) ♠️miscarried 6, birthed 3, 1 Vaginal, 2 csections, experienced fetal intrauterine stroke, clubfoot (but now have an abundance of kids so there’s that) ♠️veteran yo-yo dieter who did weight loss surgery and now openly medicates to be healthy ALL WHILE reminding myself to love myself at ALLLL the weights I’ve been ♥️ovarian cancer—surgery/complications/chemo/menopause all at age 46 but alive to yammer about it daily 🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗 SO what EACH of the above life’s experience has SHOWN me is NOT that “things happen for a reason” or all that BS—BUT that my “why” is that through my desire to ENGAGE coupled with my “events”—my purpose is to help us with what I think may be one of the MOST intense issues we each have: WHEN WE LACK KNOWLEDGE ABOUT OUR BODIES IT LEADS TO FEAR—fear that every ache and pain is bad/dangerous/weird/lonely... ❓SO what I want MOST is to make BASIC KNOWLEDGE about ALL things OBGYN: HPV, herpes, endometriosis, weight, cancer, peri/menopause, fertility, contraception, miscarriage, abortion, PCOS (among others) LESS. DANG. SCARY. And MORE. AMAZINGLY. UNDERSTANDABLE!! Then we can ALL proceed with “I GET IT, so now let’s DO something about it!” RATHER than feeling that “it” (all of it) is illusive and UNIQUE to you. !!️bc YOU are unique but the GOOD news is that LIKELY your medical issues ARENT.
