‘Fishing Branch’ and ‘Bear Duet’ / Canada’s bosky backdrop of evergreens, birch-shaded riverbanks, and sleepy mountains is a favorite study of mine. The towering forests dwarf even the might and power of a grizzly. My senses heighten each time I set foot within this untameable landscape. After a few hours of wandering the pine mazes, I start to notice every shade of green in the canopy above and can even taste the cool, metallic splash of river water striking rocks. I find it thrilling when the wild within me suddenly remembers that I too am a part of this strange, beautiful living world. There is still so much natural wonder quietly regaining its foothold on earth, and every inch of it is worth fighting for.
