It’s a constant battle of waking up and wanting to get out of bed. Starting the morning routine because it’s important to have one. Then to get ready for the day and have to practice your smile to hide the depth of the anguish of your traumas that are on the verge of explosion and if you don’t get it right, everyone will know there is something wrong. Then getting in the long car ride to work and practice how to say “ Hello! How can I help you today?!” In your most happiest voice. Then shuffling through which stories will be fun to share that aren’t too sad, because you can’t relate to people. Practicing to be so happy for others and their accomplishments because it just makes you feel like your life has been worthless and you haven’t accomplished anything to be able to be that happy. That’s the battle of depression. A battle that is constant every moment of our lives.
