It brings me happiness to announce that CANDLE has been kindly selected for a screening at @octopusmarquee Catch the film on screens December 15 – 18, 2022 The process of making Candle embarked me into one of the most introspectively transformative journeys, made just before lockdown. The film took about a year to finish due to the manual choice of editing overlays for visual control. The minimal form made for an incredibly nourishing creative experience which was akin to gardening or meditating, watching a lost space which was actually my mothers’ storage room bathed in grass. I animated myself on a wireless remote over the course of 12 hours and told a narrative in interaction of the rooms’ space, the film is about a dead character regressing into their elements either after or during death. The ambience was itself the film, and the ending was already set, I was exploring the world like a refraction of elements looping until ending, like conscience feeding associations until depleated. #shortfilm #octopusmarqueefilmfestival #octopusmarquee #videoart #experimental #experimentalfilm
