There’s something incredible magical about being in the open ocean with sea turtles. Photographing and documenting wildlife was never high on my list but it’s quickly shot up over the last 18 months. There’s something so special about how they move and act. However, it’s important to still be respectful and keep your distance. ✨I shot with a go pro that was attached to a long stick to keep my physical distance and best adhere to the local and federal guidelines.✨ What are the best practices in Hawaii regarding sea turtles? Give them 6-10 feet and to NEVER touch nor harass them. Allow them to come up for air so don’t swim directly above them. Where to see them? Best places for snorkeling with sea turtles Napili Bay, Honolua Bay, Mokulei’a Bay, Pu’u Keka’a (Black Rock), Mala Wharf, and Olowalu.
